Brass band to spread Christmas cheer at Ipswich concert

ONE of Australia's most well-known brass bands, the Brisbane Excelsior Band, is set to spread the holiday cheer in Ipswich at their upcoming Christmas Extravaganza concert.

Band member Ross Moloney said the group had entertained crowds at major festivals, concert theatres, marching events, contests and special occasions across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and China.

"The evening promises something for everyone, including Christmas classics, a carol sing-a-long, fun for the kids and much, much more," he said.

"This should be a Christmas 'must' for all music students."

Mr Moloney said guest vocalist Chrislyn Hamilton from Australia's Got Talent and Australian Idol would be sure to get audiences up and singing along to the classical Christmas tunes.

Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for concession card holders and children can attend the Christmas concert for free.

The Brisbane Excelsior Band Christmas Extravaganza will be held at St Paul's Anglican Church, 124 Brisbane St, on Saturday, December 12 at 7pm.

Tickets are available at the door or by emailing
